This is an extraordinary anal plug made of black granite. That is 500 million year old stone right there. It’s a Norwegian design so it makes perfect sense to finally give it a go. And it’s a charmer!

Laid is a Norwegian company that makes silicone and stone sex toys. They have their own unique style and was recently acquired by none other than We-Vibe, so that means we’re talking about quality here.
Laid B.1 comes delivered in this strikingly simple cardboard box. It’s sturdy, nice and fully recyclable. Inside the box is a foam insert to keep the precious B.1 safe, as well as a small authenticity certificate. It’s plain and simple in every way, and I like what I see.
Even knowing the measurements, I was slightly surprised at size of this plug. It’s incredibly tiny! The closest comparison I have would be the Njoy Pure Plug in medium. Laid B.1 measures 4,25 inches (11cm) in length with a circumference of 3.5 inches (9cm) at its widest insertable point. The usable length is no more than 2.5 inches (6.5cm), so it’s really a gentle little toy.
Being made of polished stone – black granite to be precise, it has some heft to it. But it still feels organic and warm in a way. It’s a long shot from the hefty and unforgiving experience that is stainless steel plugs. By all means the plug is still cool to touch, but in a gentle way. It’s lighter than I would have thought, weighing less than 200 grams. It slick and glass-smooth with a slightly grainy feeling to it. With lube it’s perfectly free of friction.
I find it strange that it has a circular base and what looks like a thicker neck in the official product photos, but it’s probably just a revision. The base is still nice and wide to allows for safe usage while the neck is slim to keep things comfortable. Together they help the plug stay put, and I never experienced any problems with slippage. The tapered shaft is a little blunt, the small size enables effortless insertion regardless. B.1 has the same asymmetrical shape as the D.1 dildo, which is supposed to enable good spotting of the G or P spot. Honestly I don’t feel it. I barely feel the gentle ridge on either side when twisting it. It feels very nice to clench the anal muscles to get a little movement in there. Neat to have a rock solid plug without the weight often associated with these naturally hard materials.
Other than that, it’s just there. It’s not the best thing to try to jam into the prostate. The base is too small to get a real grip and the plug is tiny, not offering the kind of reach I need from a prostate massager. That’s not its main purpose though. It’s designed to increase the sensations up until an orgasm, and that it does. It does so in a way without making its presence known too much. This is a plug anyone can use, and it won’t be overwhelming at all. Simply put it makes an orgasm a bit more enjoyable, with a minimal amount of fuzz.
Laid B.1 is easy to maintain and requires only soap and water to get squeaky clean after use. I recommend a sex toy cleaner just in case though. I wish it came with a little pouch for storage, but it isn’t overly fragile. Actually its though as a rock. Just don’t drop it!
Laid B.1 is not something I reach for too often, as I usually crave a bit more presence in my butt. Still it’s an amazing little plug that is as easy to use as it’s beautiful. It’s a great beginners plug and something for effortless anal play and experimentation. It won’t satisfy those with the expectation of mind-blowing anal orgasms, but it does its job nicely. I wish more sizes was available to satisfy everyone – but we can’t have it all, can we?
The Laid B.1 is available from Hot Stuff (EU/Worldwide) with affordable and discrete shipping. It’s €65 as of now.
