Lelo-Antibac-Spray

I just wanted to make a quick post about my all time favorite sex toy cleaner: The Antibacterial Cleaning Spray from the talented people over at Lelo. This quick and easy cleaning spray has some nifty ingredients and work well for a range of different materials.

A sex toy cleaner is not just for cleaning toys anymore, it has to contain less harsh ingredients, be gentle to our skin and body as well as kill bacteria. This is increasingly more important as we get higher standards for everything in life. That is part of the reason I want to share my thoughts on this overlooked part of the toy biz.

Packaging

It comes in a nice simple white bottle with the Lelo logo – topped off with a silver cap that simply lifts to reveal the spray pump. The outer box is just as simple and share the same style. It is completely fine to leave it out in the open even if you prefer to keep your activities private. It does not use the word sex at all, and the instructions simply states “Spray surface of the toy”. Great job on the design there, Lelo!

Ingredients

The Cleaner Spray from Lelo is said to kill 99.9% of all bacteria, viruses and fungus while still being gentle, alcohol free and PH balanced. Below are the ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Decyl Glucoside, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Sucralose, Sorbitol, Zinc Gluconate, Zinc Acetate, Zinc Lactate, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA and Benzalkonium Chloride.

Interestingly it does contain sucralose which is an artificial sweetener. Alcohol free and PH balanced should mean it is non drying and non irritating. It also contains Zink salts that adds to the gentleness. It does have a light fresh smell to it, almost like lemon and soap. I like it! Although people – you should still avoid getting this in your eyes or swallowing it!

So how does it work?

Simple. You just spray your toy with about 2-4 sprays and let it sit for 5 seconds. Then you finish off with a lint free towel or cloth to dry it. Easy as that! And you do not have to rinse with water afterwards. I would do a quick cleaning with water and soap first to get off any body fluids and lube though.

After use it leaves matte silicone feeling soft as ever, and all toys smell really clean. It works great for any silicone, rubber and latex toys as stated on the bottle but it also works well on any plastic, glass and metal toys. I have even found that it is gentle enough not to harm real-skin materials like Fleshjacks and Fleshlights over time. But it is simply up to you if you want to go beyond the recommended usage.

All in all

At 60ml it does not seem as much, but as you only need a couple of sprays for each toy it lasts for many months, depending on how playful you are of course. And for the price (of £6 / €7) I am happy to say you get a top-notch toy cleaner here. This is good-bye harsh cleaners and hello Lelo and happy toys!

If there is one thing I would like to make this even better; increase the sizes! Double the size and reduce waste by half. That’s a win win. You can buy it online from Lelo themselves here, or from Lovehoney.com. EU readers may stop by Hot Stuff.
