One silicone lube that looks as clear and well designed as it feels. Überlube shows the way for others to follow and is indeed the champagne of lubricants.
Überlube was generously sponsored by Überlube themselves for an honest review. Thank you for making this test possible!
Überlube comes in a few different sizes. All come in beautiful borosilicate glass, sturdy, clear and practical. All bottles has a little pump top for easy application. The different sizes are 100ml, 50ml and 15ml. The last one fits in a neat aluminium travel case. It has proven useful many times already.
The lube itself is super clear and runny. Watery in consistence and super slick and slippery. I’d compare it to the Keepburning B12 Energy Silicone, which feels extremely similar, but Überlube comes without the short shelf life and has way better packaging and presentation. Unlike many thicker silicone lubricants it does not feel powdery at all, it just offer effortless and silky smooth glide. A little goes a long way. It is completely scent and tasteless, which adds to the overall pleasure of use and variation possible.
I love how it feels when used with metal toys – it’s comfortable and friction free. But for silicone toys (that can handle it) it feels as if it’s too thin to hide the drag and friction usually associated with silicone toys. It spreads out nicely and stays like that, as you can see in the picture below. One pump spread over the Tantus Alumina Motion.
When it comes to anal sex it does provide a very naked like feeling. Reducing friction and making penetration effortless without hiding the skins natural texture. But it requires far more than with toys. Still, it is very long-lasting and when it is left alone it tends to absorb into the skin almost. Leaving a very smooth and non sticky surface, almost powdery feeling. I don’t feel like it enhances the experience more than other lubes, but it is certainly good at getting its job done.
Ingredients: Dimethicone, Dimethiconal, Cyclomethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)
Vitamin E is likely added for its moisturizing properties. It helps the skin retain its natural moisture. The rest of the ingredients are different types of silicone.
Alternative uses are as a massage oil, anti frizz product for hair and for all over body use to eliminate chafing. Great for athletes.
Overall I am very pleased with Überlube. It is one of the best silicone lubes I have had the pleasure to use, and has a nice and easy to use bottle both for home use and for travel. It lasts a very long time as long as it is subject to friction, and as it is left alone it absorbs into the skin with little residue. It does not need to be washed off right away, not because of some icky feeling at least. As with all silicone lube, soap and water is the way to remove it completely.
I love that it is both neutral and discrete looking. I wouldn’t mind letting this stay out on my nightstand for the world to see. It only has a subtle hint as to what it’s for and it looks both delicate and premium. Something that truly belongs by the side of my bed.
I also like the price of the lubricant, as in my eyes it is very affordable. Yes, it might not be the cheapest out there, but you do get some high quality stuff. It costs $15 for the Good-to-Go travel case + 15ml. $18 for 50ml and $28 for 100ml as well as for 4x15ml refills. You can purchase yours at Überlube.com.
